Mandy Pearl was encouraged to send her pictures to SCORE by a friend from a town called Huddersfield in England. The way Mandy pronounced it, it sounded like "Hooters Field," which kinda sounded just right. Two American TV sitcoms of the 1960s, Petticoat Junction and Green Acres, were based in Hooterville, an inside joke by the writers. Mandy's friend was a guy friend, not a boyfriend-boyfriend, but Mandy trusted his judgment and followed his suggestion.
